Driven Game Shooting

Working in partnership with a local estate, we are able to offer pheasant and partridge shooting stretching from North Stainley near Ripon to Grewelthorpe near Masham, with topography ranging from flat mixed arable lands, pasture and to rolling hills, steep quarry faces and high game crop topped valleys.

Major investment has seen the creation of a spectacular shoot where there has been only one aim, to provide memorable shooting in the most attractive surroundings.

Although driven Pheasants are the primary game bird, the shoots also release French Partridge and Mallard, and can even offer variety such as driven Greylag geese.

Most of the drives have been designed to allow very little travelling distance between them, and you are able to walk between many of them.

Land & topography

Flat mixed arable lands, pasture and woodland to rolling hills, steep quarry faces and high game crop topped valleys. Much of the estate has had Miscanthus cover crops put in place of rotational crops, although traditional crops such as Kale are still grown. The estate has also invested heavily in biomass willow crops, which provide a welcome addition to the layout of drives.

Hospitality

Depending on whether you choose to shoot a full driven day with us or one of our mini driven days, you will sure of a memorable day in the North Yorkshire countryside. A full driven day begins breakfast, plus mid shoot elevenses and a sit down post shoot meal with hearty main course and a pudding. Tales from the day are always accompanied by a good pint and good company. A walked up day offers a welcome elevenses break with locally produced fair and refreshments. We can also offer overnight accommodation in our 5* B&B The Old Coach House in North Stainley, which is ideally situated in the centre of the estate and benefits from being located just across the road from the village pub.
